Elsa Kohlbus
Founder
Elsa brings over 15 years of hands-on experience in high-quality, high-volume spay and neuter (HQHVSN) services, with a career dedicated to sustainable, humane animal population management. She began her work as a veterinary technician and has since grown into a respected leader, known for building efficient, effective systems that empower staff and elevate organizational impact. As the founder of Be. Spay Neuter Consulting, Elsa partners with animal welfare organizations across the country to design and optimize HQHVSN programs that are scalable, ethical, and truly staff-driven. Her consulting approach is rooted in real-world experience, practical solutions, and a deep understanding of the unique challenges that high-volume clinics face. Elsa holds a Bachelor’s degree from UMass Amherst and a Master’s in Photojournalism from Boston University, a combination that fuels her ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and compellingly. She’s also an expert in creating visual and written content that helps organizations increase community engagement, attract donors, and build long-term support. Her commitment to humane, science-based practices extends beyond companion animals. Elsa’s work with the Department of Fish and Wildlife and the Red Wolf Project—leading an initiative to sterilize coyotes in support of red wolf conservation—demonstrates her capacity for innovative, non-lethal strategies that promote coexistence and protect biodiversity. Whether launching a new clinic, improving surgical efficiency, or reimagining team structure and workflow, Elsa offers compassionate, experienced guidance that delivers results.

Mike Greenberg, DVM
Medical Director
Dr. Mike is a nationally recognized expert in high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter (HQHVSN) with nearly two decades of experience leading and transforming surgical programs. As a medical director for multiple organizations—including fixed-site and MASH-style clinics—Dr. Greenberg has trained teams, developed protocols, and established new clinics from the ground up, all while maintaining a relentless focus on quality, efficiency, and access. His work has taken him across the U.S. and internationally, helping shelters and clinics streamline operations and increase impact. He makes his home in New Orleans, LA where he continues to practice HQHVSN.
